Question 2 |
|
| |
Concerning the urine of baby boys and
girls if it comes upon ones clothes what should they do? |
|
| |
Answer: |
|
| |
As for the urine of baby boys that
gets on one’s clothes then those baby boys who haven’t
had solid food then one only sprinkles water over it.
As for the urine of the baby girls then it is washed.
The reason has not been mentioned in the hadeeth. Some
scholars say that the urine of boys spreads to different
areas and that is the wisdom behind only sprinkling the
water over it while the urine of baby girls is limited
to one place so it is washed with water. However, Allaah
knows best as to the wisdom behind it as no specific text
has been mentioned in this regard. |

Question 2 |
|
| |
What is upon us in regards to the Amir/Leader
of the Masjid? What if the Imam falls into innovation? |
|
| |
Answer: |
|
| |
It is obligatory to know that there
isn’t actually something called an Amir of the Masjid
or community. In a non-Muslim country, whoever builds
the Masjid, they are the ones who take care of the Masjid;
they appoint an Imaam, a Mu’adhin, care taker. They
take care of the affairs of expenses etc. They are only
responsible for the Imaam and Muaadhin and don’t
have authority over the people. If the Imaam falls into
innovation, he is to be advised. You can pray in his Masjid
as long as he is upon Sunnah and his innovation is not
disbelief or shirk. |

Question 4 |
|
| |
The prayer of the traveler - Could
anyone clarify for me the prayer of the traveler? |
|
| |
Answer: |
|
| |
The traveler begins to shorten the
4 unit prayers once they leave their city of residence
until they return. So for example, the people of Madinah
begin their shortening of prayers once they reach the
airport which is situated just outside Madinah. As for
combining the prayers, the sheikh said: the best prayer
is that which is prayed on time as the Messenger sallaallaahu
'alaihi wa sallam explained but if one has a need to join
the Zhohr and ‘Asr prayer and likewise the Maghrib
and ‘Isha prayers, they can do so as this is an
ease which Allaah has provided for the traveller. |

Siyaam - Fasting |
|
|
| |
Question 1 |
|
| |
Is it permissible for a pregnant woman
who is sick to stay at home and miss the ‘Eed prayer? |
|
| |
Answer: |
|
| |
Yes it is allowed for her not to go
to the ‘Eed prayer due to sickness |
|
| |

(3rd Shawaal 1426) |
|
|
| |
Question 2 |
|
| |
Can a pregnant woman break her fast? |
|
| |
Answer: |
|
| |
Firstly, every Muslim must know,
male and female, that pregnancy on its own is not a
reason for someone to break their fast. Rather, the
pregnant woman has also been addressed to fast the month
of Ramadan. For it is only one month in the year and
a pillar in Islam.
Secondly, if the pregnant woman sees some sickness
(due to her fasting) such that the fasting becomes difficult
while pregnant, for example, she vomits or she gets
headaches, in this situation she can break her fast
and fulfill the fast afterwards.
Thirdly, If the pregnancy affects her unborn child
such that she knows this by way of a trustworthy Muslim
doctor (male or female) then she may break her fast
also.
If she cannot find a Muslim doctor then a non Muslim
doctor who is known for his skill in this field.

Question 3 |
|
| |
What advice can you give us for this
month of Ramadan? |
|
| |
Answer: |
|
| |
Let it be clear to every male and female
Muslim that fasting is not prescribed to just keep away
from food and drink but it also includes keeping away
from evil actions. The Messenger sallallaahu 'alaihi wa
sallam said that whoever does not leave evil talk while
fasting then Allaah has no need that he leaves his food
and drink. One should strive to benefit much in this month
and strive to do good deeds. One should fulfill the obligations
and is encouraged to perform the extra duties. In this
month the good deeds are magnified and the sins are forgiven.
So I advise you to guard the obligations of Allaah, those
obligatory duties such as the Prayer and the Zakah (Charity).
I advise you to be righteous to your parents and to keep
the ties with your family. You must fulfill your trusts
and be truthful in speech. You must fulfill your promises
and oaths and other than that from the good deeds. |

She should be patient and try to convince
her wali of the good nature of the brother who has proposed
and not rush into leaving the rights of those Allaah has
placed for her own protection. This is a common practice
we find in many who are quick to override their wali and
this only causes more problems, had they waited and tried
to convince their wali in a good way, problems would have
been solved but the people are hasty. |

Question 12 |
|
| |
Is it allowed for a pregnant woman
and her husband to seek from the doctor to know the sex
of the fetus? |
|
| |
Answer: |
|
| |
Sheikh ‘Ubayd said that which
he has memorized from the Scholars of Knowledge on this
issue is; there are two situations to this issue:
First- Before the fetus is formed, this is at about
four months, it is not allowed to ask the sex of it
because it has not been formed and Allaah alone knows
the sex of the fetus. Second- After the fetus is formed,
it is allowed to ask. The doctor then has the ability
to know the sex of the fetus.
However Sheikh ‘Ubayd advised that it is better
not to do this (ask the sex of the fetus) because some
people love to have a son and if the doctor says that
it is female then they may feel unhappy due to the news
(even though there is much reward for bring up daughters
correctly). |

Question 13 |
|
| |
Are highlights for women’s hair
allowed? |

Some highlights that women use for
the hair do not allow water to reach the skin and therefore
are not allowed to be used (since if they were allowed
then wudu would not be complete), however, if the highlights
used do allow water to reach the skin then they are allowed
to be used by women for their hair. |

Manhaj - Methodology |
|
|
| |
Question 1 |
|
| |
What should we do to protect our deen
in some Muslim countries such as Pakistan where there
is much corruption and sins are widespread, is it recommended
to go back to non-Muslim countries where there are more
salafees and the dawah is more stronger? |
|
| |
Answer: |
|
| |
If you cannot practice your deen where
you are in Pakistan as you are surrounded by deviants
and deviations then you can go back and live amongst strong
salafi communities such as in Birmingham with your brothers
in Makataba salafiyyah.
Sheikh position is that if you are the few and weak
then do not put yourself in a situation that will bring
harm but refute innovations without mentioning names.
Busy yourselves with knowledge so the people know that
is what you are about and the people come to you to
benefit with beautiful preaching and wisdom. Connect
to the people of knowledge. |

Question 3 |
|
| |
What advice do you give us O sheikh? |
|
| |
Answer: |
|
| |
Sheikh ‘Ubayd Al-Jaabiree answers:
- To occupy ones time, that which
is personal and general with the knowledge of the
sharee'ah which leads to understanding the religion
of Allaah. In the beginning of that the belief and
fiqh of practical worship like the prayer.
- To spread the Sunnah with wisdom
and beautiful preaching.
- To refute that which reaches you
from the innovations with proof and in a manner by
which people will understand and bring contentment.
- I advise the Salafees to be welcoming
and to solve the differences between them.
- Seeking advice from the scholars
and honourable ones those who are known for their
firmness upon knowledge and correct belief and methodology
until you are able to sort out the differences far
away from extremism.
- Do no put yourself in the situation
of arguing with the people of desires for that sickens
the heart and wastes time and allows the innovators
to mention their doubts.
- Show the beauty of Islam in front
of your neighbours from other than the Muslims such
as honesty, upholding trusts, fulfilling promises
and oaths, and be kind and generous to the neighbours
and fulfill the obligatory rights of the people.

|
| |
Question 1 |
|
| |
Is there a time frame to finish reciting
the whole of the Quraan? Is it allowed to finish reciting
the Quraan in a day? |
|
| |
Answer: |
|
| |
Sheikh Muhammad al Banna said that
Sheikh Ibn ‘Uthaimeen used to complete it in a day
and I complete it about twice in a week. |
|
| |
I said: is not there a prohibition
for reciting the Quran in less than 3 days? |
|
| |
Sheikh Muhammad Al-Banna replied: the
hadeeth says the one who recites it in less than 3 days
doesn't understand what he is reciting, so I see that
the one who has memorized the Quran can recite it in this
time as a way of revising. Due to my age, I prefer not
to read other books other than the Quran. I can remember
what I have recited from the Quran but with other books
they take longer to read and once you have read them you
forget their contents. As for the student of knowledge
then they must also read Islamic books from the scholars
to have a good understanding also.
The sheikh advises that the students of knowledge learn
the chapter headings of Imam al Bukhaaree from Saheeh
al-Bukhaaree as in them there is a lot of benefit in
Aqeedah and fiqh. |
